We have just conducted our primary alpha test on the 26th of November 2005. The test was very successful and only a few small modifications are remaining. The modules to dynamically upload problems and integrate them into the system are still not functional. Packaging is left and we'll probably be releasing the first RPMs for Redhat-based systems and perhaps an installer for windows platforms. We recommend JDK1.5 for the software because we were using the latest JDK's and forgot that other systems may not be as up-to-date as expected. We hope you are able to test out the software for us also.
Many links have been hardcoded which we would like some help in making generic. Moreover, the integration with the Java Service Wrapper has been clumsy. Some help in this regard would also be appreciated. Expect a lot of file releases within the next week. Our examinations begin from the 5th of December and will continue through to the 18th. So a lot of activity is expected on the CVS after 18th. The client side may probably be completely re-written with a formal and well-defined protocol in place. So please avoid improving the client just yet.
Expect some documentation soon on how to package what files and where they should go. This will help you in understanding what class is required where and by whom. Lets hope YODA catches some momentum in the days to come. All contributions in any form are appreciated.
